What’s the Best Budget PC Build for 200+ FPS at 1080p?

I'm in the US with a maximum budget of $1,100, though I'd prefer to spend as little as possible. I need a gaming PC capable of running competitive shooters such as Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike, and Valorant at 200 FPS or higher on low settings at 1080p. I'd also like around 120 FPS in newer games such as Battlefield 6, but that isn't essential. I already have peripherals, so the budget is only for the PC itself.

If you have access to a Micro Center, check their PowerSpec systems. One available option includes a Ryzen 5 7500X3D, RTX 5060, 16GB of DDR5-6000 memory, and a 1TB NVMe SSD for about $1,100. Open-box units may be closer to $900, and that kind of system should comfortably meet your competitive gaming target.

A Ryzen 5 12400F paired with an RX 6700 XT 12GB is a strong fit for this budget. That combination can push well over 200 FPS in competitive shooters at 1080p, especially on low settings, and should be affordable either as a new build or through the used market.

I’m actually looking at a used PC with nearly those exact specs for around $600 right now. That seems like a pretty good deal if the condition checks out.

Counter-Strike and Valorant rely heavily on CPU performance, particularly when playing at 1080p with low graphics settings. You can save some money on the GPU and put more of the budget toward a modern processor. With a balanced system under $1,100, reaching 200+ FPS in those games should be very realistic.

Are there any particular CPUs you’d recommend looking for?
