I just finished my first PC build and only now realized that my MSI PRO B650M-P motherboard doesn't include built-in Wi-Fi. I know USB and PCIe Wi-Fi adapters are available, but many listings talk about boosting an existing signal, which has me wondering what I actually need. Should I use a USB adapter or a PCIe card, and what features should I look for? I may also need Bluetooth.

If you can run Ethernet to the computer, that’s still the most stable option, particularly for gaming. Otherwise, a PCIe card or a USB adapter will add Wi-Fi without needing to replace the motherboard.
Check whether the adapter includes Bluetooth. Motherboards with built-in Wi-Fi commonly include Bluetooth as well, while a basic Wi-Fi-only solution may require a separate Bluetooth USB dongle.
USB Wi-Fi adapters work fine and are the easiest option. Look for one with an external antenna, especially if the PC is far from the router or has a weak signal. Make sure it supports the Wi-Fi standard your router uses, such as Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6.
A PCIe Wi-Fi adapter is usually the better choice if you have room for one. Your motherboard has a PCIe x1 slot, so a Wi-Fi card should fit there as long as your graphics card isn’t blocking access. They’re generally more reliable than small USB adapters and often include Bluetooth too.
