I'm bringing my gaming PC to college, but I'll have to take it home during every break because my dorm doesn't allow valuables to remain over breaks. The system is built in a HYTE Y70 with an RTX 3090 Founders Edition and an AIO cooler. My room is on the third floor with no elevator, and the case is too large and awkward to carry comfortably. I'm worried about dropping it or damaging the components. I'm considering removing the GPU, putting it in an anti-static bag, and carrying it separately in my backpack, but I'm not sure how best to protect and carry the case itself.

For the case, use the original case box and foam inserts if you still have them. If not, get a large, sturdy box or a padded moving blanket and secure the PC so it cannot slide around. Carry it upright and avoid grabbing it by the glass panels or radiator tubing. A small dolly or luggage cart could make the stairs much easier, though you should still move slowly and keep one hand supporting the case.
Removing the GPU before moving the computer is a good idea, especially with a large, heavy card like the 3090. Put it in a proper anti-static bag and protect it with padding; don’t just wrap it in ordinary plastic or cloth. If you still have the original GPU packaging, use that, but any sturdy padded box will work.
Having a second person carry it down carefully is the simplest option. Take out the GPU first, disconnect anything that could snag, and keep the computer level while moving it. Since you’ll be doing this every break, arranging a reliable cart or keeping reusable packing materials will be safer than trying to carry the bare case by hand each time.

The card came from a prebuilt, so I don’t have its original box. I’ll get an anti-static bag and find some proper padding for it.
