I'm putting together a budget gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RTX 5070 Ti, and I'm trying to choose between two motherboards. The ASUS TUF B650M-E WiFi has an 8+2+1 power design but appears to offer a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for the graphics card. The ASRock B850M-X WiFi 7 has a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, but its power design is only 6+1+1. I'm worried that PCIe 4.0 could limit the 5070 Ti, or that the ASRock board might not supply enough power during demanding games and heavy CPU workloads. I'm new to PC building, so I'd appreciate advice on which board makes more sense and whether I should be concerned about either specification.

Both boards should work well with this combination. PCIe 4.0 is not going to create a meaningful bottleneck for an RTX 5070 Ti; even much faster cards generally lose little to nothing when running on PCIe 4.0. I’d mainly compare the boards on price, BIOS quality, storage, USB ports, Wi-Fi, cooling, and upgrade features instead.
The power-phase count is not something I’d worry about with a 7800X3D. That CPU doesn’t draw enough power for a reasonable B650 or B850 board to struggle, assuming the board has decent VRM heatsinks and isn’t defective. Power delivery becomes more important with unusually power-hungry CPUs or extreme overclocking, not a stock 7800X3D.
Double-check the exact ASUS model specifications before buying. Some B650E boards provide PCIe 5.0 for the graphics slot, while similarly named B650 models may only provide PCIe 4.0. Either way, PCIe 4.0 is completely adequate for the 5070 Ti, so don’t choose a board solely because it advertises PCIe 5.0.

I’d also check the price and availability in your country, since neither board is automatically the best choice everywhere. If a better-reviewed B650 or B850 board is only slightly more expensive, it may be worth choosing that instead.
