I'm finishing a gaming PC and only need to choose the graphics card. GPU prices are high where I live: the Radeon RX 9070 XT costs about €780, the RTX 5080 is around €1,300–€1,600, and the RTX 5070 Ti is roughly €1,000–€1,100. I'm hesitant to buy from less familiar marketplaces, so reliability and value matter. Most of my gaming will be at 1080p or 1440p with high refresh rates, but I also want to use an LG C4 running at up to 144 Hz. How much could future DLSS features improve the RTX cards at higher resolutions, and which GPU makes the most sense for this system? The build includes a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory.

The RX 9070 XT looks like the strongest value at these prices. It should handle 1440p high-refresh gaming very well and can also provide a solid experience on the 4K OLED. Unless you specifically need Nvidia’s features, paying several hundred euros more for the RTX 5070 Ti or 5080 is difficult to justify.
The RTX 5070 Ti can make sense if you care a lot about ray tracing, DLSS, and Nvidia’s frame-generation features. Performance is generally in the same broad range, though Nvidia often has an advantage in ray-traced games, and DLSS can make a major difference. It is also more power efficient; the Radeon card may need a power supply with roughly 50 W more capacity. Still, at €1,000–€1,100 compared with €780 for the 9070 XT, the Radeon is the more sensible purchase unless those Nvidia features are a priority.
DLSS can be especially useful in demanding games with ray tracing, but it should not be treated as a reason to overpay by €200–€300. At 1080p, upscaling is less useful anyway, while 1440p and 4K benefit more.
The RX 9070 or 9070 XT would be my pick, depending on the price gap. The 9070 XT is the better choice if the difference is fairly small, while the standard 9070 may offer better value if it is around €80–€100 cheaper. Both should pair very well with the 7800X3D.
The regular RX 9070 is about €699 here, so I’m also considering it if the performance difference from the XT isn’t worth the extra cost.
