I'm putting together a gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and need to choose a graphics card. The options I'm considering are a PNY RTX 5080 for $1,289.99, an ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti for $1,229.99, or an MSI RTX 5070 Ti for $1,159.99. I'll mainly be playing games at 4K. Is the RTX 5080 worth the extra cost, or would one of the 5070 Ti models be a better value?

At those prices, the RTX 5080 is the obvious choice. It’s only about $60 more than the ASUS 5070 Ti and gives you a stronger GPU for 4K gaming.

I’d go with the RTX 5080 if you’re comfortable spending $1,289.99. Since you’re targeting 4K, the extra performance makes more sense than saving a relatively small amount on the 5070 Ti.

The RTX 5080 is the best option among the cards listed. The 5070 Ti models would be worth considering only if their price difference were much larger.
