I'm looking for some advice on selecting a new motherboard since I'll be upgrading to the upcoming AMD 9x3D2 this month. I'm torn between the Gigabyte Aero Wood and the X870E AORUS MASTER X3D ICE. My current setup includes an AMD7 9700X and an MSI Pro B650, which was bundled from Newegg. I'll be using the PC mainly for extreme gaming, video editing, and other tasks. If you have any other recommendations (not Asrock), I'd love to hear them!

You're spot on about needing a motherboard with good VRMs. A B650 or B850 will suffice for most gaming and content creation, but the X870 offers enhanced connectivity options. If aesthetics are important to you, choose the one that looks better!
Before you decide on a new motherboard, what features are you missing on your current one? If your MSI Pro B650 is meeting your connectivity needs, switching may not boost your performance at all.
I have the MSI PRO B650-S WIFI, and while it's a solid board, I'm curious if it can handle the new 9x3D. My PSU is 1200W, but I'm also considering the power phases; I’d prefer one with 16+2+2 for more stability.
The current board does have decent specs, but with only 12+2 phases, I'm also worried about the long-term reliability with the new CPU.

Absolutely! I'm prioritizing VRMs and stability, especially since this new CPU is allegedly a performance beast compared to Intel.
