I'm trying to enter the BIOS directly so I can change a few settings, but pressing Delete or F8 during startup does nothing. The computer boots Windows normally, and it also boots Bazzite and Ubuntu from a USB drive. I haven't knowingly changed any BIOS settings. I can reach the BIOS through Windows' advanced recovery options, but I'd prefer to access it without starting Windows. The motherboard is an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 with an FX-6300 CPU and 16 GB of RAM.

For this ASUS board, try Delete or F2 rather than F8. Start pressing the key repeatedly immediately after turning the computer on, before the operating-system logo appears. Try one key per reboot instead of holding several keys at once. If the keyboard has an Fn key or an Fn-lock feature, try the key combination with Fn as well.
This can be caused by the keyboard not being recognized early enough during startup. Plug it directly into a rear USB port, preferably a USB 2.0 port, and avoid hubs or front-panel ports. If possible, try a basic wired keyboard. Then restart and repeatedly tap Delete as soon as the system powers on.
Since you can reach the firmware through Windows recovery, the board itself is probably fine. Confirm the exact model and its manual’s key, then do a full shutdown rather than a fast restart and begin tapping Delete immediately after pressing the power button. You can also temporarily disconnect other USB devices so the keyboard is detected first.
I tried F2, but it didn’t open the BIOS; it only made the ASUS boot-logo background turn green.
