I have an ASUS TUF A15 (2024) that I've reset several times before, but recently my gaming FPS suddenly dropped and Windows will no longer reset using either the local or cloud option. I also created a Windows installation USB, but that hasn't worked either. I've tried SFC and DISM, and I'm wondering whether missing driver files are preventing the installation. I'm not very experienced with computers—what's the safest way to completely reinstall Windows and get the laptop working properly again?

A bootable USB should normally allow a fresh installation even if the current Windows system is damaged. If it immediately fails, recreate the installer on a different USB drive and check the BIOS boot settings. Also verify that the laptop is actually booting from the USB rather than launching the old Windows installation. If the installer still cannot detect the SSD, check the storage-controller setting in BIOS or load the appropriate ASUS storage driver during setup.
Missing drivers generally won’t stop the installer from booting, but they can matter if the installer cannot see the internal SSD or if Windows has no network afterward. Download the ASUS TUF A15 drivers from the official ASUS support page using the exact model number, especially the chipset, storage/Intel or AMD controller, graphics, and Wi-Fi drivers. Keep them on a second USB if needed. After Windows is installed, install the chipset and graphics drivers before testing game performance.
The built-in Reset feature can fail even when the hardware is fine. A clean installation from the USB is usually more reliable, but make sure the USB was created with Microsoft’s official Media Creation Tool or ISO. Boot the laptop from the USB using the ASUS boot menu, choose Custom installation, and delete the existing Windows partitions only after backing up anything important. Then install Windows to the unallocated space. This will erase the drive, so confirm your files and license information are backed up first.
