I recently upgraded from an ASUS TUF 3080 to a used Palit Jetstream 4070 Ti. I found the upgrade was just $100 more after selling my 3080. During testing with Unigine Heaven, the 4070 Ti is getting more FPS as expected, but I'm concerned about the temperatures. My 3080 runs at about 58°C while pulling over 300W, but the 4070 Ti is sitting at 68°C with around 250W. Is this temperature difference normal? Should I consider replacing the thermal paste or taking any other action?

Your 3080 is producing less power per area, which might explain the cooler temps. The 4070 Ti operates at a higher output per mm². Keep in mind that the cooling performance varies based on overall design, not just power efficiency!
It's actually a bit surprising that your 3080 runs so cool at that wattage. My 3080 FTW3 Ultra hits around 70°C under load between 320W-360W. Were the clock speeds normal on your 3080 during testing?
68°C is pretty low for a graphics card. I would uninstall the benchmarks and just play some games. The temps should be fine in proper usage!
Sounds like a good plan! Focus on gaming!
Honestly, the cooler on your 4070 Ti might not be as efficient. Also, the GPU chip design can impact heat distribution. 68°C isn't concerning—wait until it hits over 80°C before worrying!
I just expected it to be cooler since I've heard good things about the 4070 Ti's efficiency.

What's the area measurement for that? Is it related to the memory bus or something?
