Why won’t my iPhone connect to my Windows computer?

I'm having trouble getting my iPhone to connect to my Windows computer. My iPad connects just fine using the same cable, and I'm on the latest version of iOS (18.4.1). Any suggestions on what might be causing the issue?

A few things to check: 1) Are you using an official Apple cable or something third-party? 2) Make sure you’re not on a beta version of iOS. 3) How old is your iPad? Also, if your computer supports Bluetooth, you can try using the 'Phone Link' app to connect wirelessly. If Bluetooth isn't an option, double-check your PC's Bluetooth settings to see if it's enabled. If not, you could get a cheap USB dongle that lets you connect.

Thanks for the tips! I'm using a third-party cable. Would that be why my iPhone won't connect but my iPad does? I did find out that my iPad is the 2020 model, though.
