Why Won’t My Visa Debit Card Add to Apple Pay on This iPhone?

I'm trying to add my Visa debit card from Technobank in Belarus to Apple Pay, but it fails on my iPhone with the CH/A regional model code. The same card links successfully on other devices with L/A and HN/A model codes, so the bank appears to support Apple Pay. The bank's support team also says they can't see any linking request in their system. Could the iPhone's regional configuration be causing this, and what steps can I try to fix it?

Your bank should still verify that this exact Visa card type is eligible, but the fact that it links on the other phones makes a basic bank-compatibility problem less likely. Compare the Apple ID country, iPhone region, iOS version, and Wallet settings on the working devices with the CH/A phone.

First, confirm that the card and Apple Pay are supported for the specific country or region configured on this iPhone. Since the card works on other devices, the issue may be related to the CH/A device region, Apple account country, or a regional Apple Pay restriction rather than the bank itself. Check the iPhone’s region settings, install the latest iOS update, and make sure two-factor authentication and a device passcode are enabled.

Because the bank cannot see an enrollment attempt, the request may be getting blocked before it reaches them. Try removing any incomplete card entry, restarting the phone, signing out and back into Apple services if necessary, then add the card again through the Wallet app. If it still fails, Apple Support may need to confirm whether Apple Pay is available on that particular regional model.
