I bought a 64GB DDR5 kit rated at CL32 and 6600 MT/s back when memory prices were lower, but I have not used it yet. I'm planning a new system with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, and an MSI B850 motherboard. Will the memory run properly at its advertised speed, or should I expect to reduce it to 6400 or 6000 MT/s for better stability and performance?

It may run at 6600 MT/s, but on AM5 the memory controller and memory clock usually work best in a 1:1 ratio. Many CPUs have trouble staying stable at that ratio above 6000–6400 MT/s, so 6000 MT/s is generally the safer choice. You can try 6400 first if the system is stable.
I would start at 6000 MT/s, then try 6200 or 6400 if you want to tune it. Test each setting with a proper memory stress test and several hours of normal use. Watch for crashes, application errors, corrupted files, or failed boots, since those can indicate unstable memory even when the system initially starts.
Check the exact memory support list and BIOS notes for your MSI motherboard. A newer BIOS may improve memory compatibility, but the result can still vary between individual CPUs and RAM kits.
The kit may boot at 6600 MT/s using its EXPO or XMP profile, but that does not necessarily mean it will perform best. If it has a 6000 MT/s profile, that is likely the better starting point for a Ryzen 7000 or 9000 system. You can test 6600 later if you want to experiment.
