I bought my components and only afterward realized I hadn't checked the RAM and motherboard compatibility list. The system uses an MSI X870E Gaming Plus WIFI motherboard, a Crucial Pro DDR5-6000 32GB kit with two 16GB UDIMMs (model CP2K16G60C36U5B), and an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The memory kit isn't listed on the motherboard's QVL. Does that mean it won't work, or is it more likely that this specific combination simply hasn't been verified by MSI or Crucial?

The QVL is basically a list of tested kits, not a complete list of every compatible memory module. Manufacturers can’t test every model available, so unlisted RAM can still work normally. You may simply need to enable the appropriate memory profile in the BIOS and troubleshoot settings if the system doesn’t run at its rated speed.
It should be fine. Not appearing on the compatibility list doesn’t automatically mean the memory is incompatible.
QVLs mainly show memory kits that the manufacturer has tested with a particular board. A kit being absent usually means that exact combination wasn’t tested, rather than that it definitely won’t work. DDR5-6000 is a common target for this platform, so it should have a good chance of working.
