I picked up a used 19-inch LCD TV from a thrift store and didn't realize it was missing its power cord. The label on the TV says 100–250V, 50/60Hz, and 1.5A. I found an ONN cord rated for 125V, 10A, and 1250W. I'm not very familiar with electrical ratings—will this cord be safe to use, assuming the connector fits the TV?

Check the shape of the connector before plugging it in. If it’s a standard detachable TV power cord and the plug fits snugly, it should work. Don’t use it if the connector is loose, damaged, or if the cord is meant for a different type of power adapter.
The 10A rating is the maximum current the cord can safely handle, not the amount it forces into the TV. Since the TV only draws up to 1.5A, a 10A cord is fine. The important things are that the plug and TV-side connector physically match, the cord is undamaged, and the cord is rated for your household voltage. In the US, a 125V cord is suitable for a TV designed for 100–250V input.
A higher amp rating on the cord won’t blow up the TV or cause a fire. It simply means the cord has more current capacity than the device needs.
