My Asus TUF Gaming F15 FX507VV has recently started partially freezing shortly after booting into Windows 11. The mouse cursor continues to move and the taskbar clock keeps updating, but mouse clicks, the built-in keyboard, and all applications stop responding. On a few occasions, clicking caused the display to go black briefly, although the open applications appeared again afterward. I have not tested Safe Mode yet. A single forced shutdown with the power button usually makes the next startup work normally. What could be causing this, and what troubleshooting steps should I try?

Since the system recovers after one forced shutdown, this may be a Windows startup, driver, or Fast Startup issue rather than a complete hardware failure. Try booting into Safe Mode to see whether the freeze happens there, then check for graphics, chipset, and ASUS system updates. It would also be worth disabling Fast Startup temporarily and checking Event Viewer after a successful boot for errors around the time of the freeze. Back up important files before repeatedly forcing shutdowns, since hard power-offs can eventually damage open data.
The keyboard and mouse clicks are completely unresponsive when it happens. I have not tried Safe Mode yet, and the black-screen behavior only occurred on a few attempts. After one forced shutdown, the laptop normally starts up and works again.
