My ASUS Vivobook running Windows 11 Home suddenly stopped loading websites a few days ago. Windows shows "Connected, secured," and my phone uses the same Wi‑Fi normally, but the laptop behaves as if there's no internet. Windows' troubleshooter reports no problems. I've restarted the laptop, changed DNS manually, disconnected and reconnected IPv4 and IPv6, reset IP Helper, flushed DNS, reset Winsock, and rolled back, uninstalled, and reinstalled the network adapter. Pinging google.com succeeds, but pings to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 fail. nslookup also fails against Google's and Cloudflare's DNS servers, and every website or search eventually times out. I don't have access to the router or modem because my roommate keeps them in their room. What should I try next?

Being connected to Wi‑Fi only means the laptop is communicating with the local router; it doesn’t guarantee that the laptop can reach the internet. Since your phone works on the same network, the problem may be specific to the laptop’s network adapter, configuration, or possibly its hardware. Restarting the modem and router would still be a useful test if your roommate can do it, but you may need to troubleshoot the laptop without changing the network equipment.
I can’t access the modem or router because my roommate keeps them in their room and won’t let anyone else restart them.
