Windows 11 Shows Wi‑Fi or Ethernet Connected but No Internet Access

Since yesterday, my Windows 11 PC has been unreliable online. It sometimes says Wi‑Fi or Ethernet is disconnected, sometimes shows "No internet," and other times says "Connected, secured" while websites and apps still cannot connect. The same network works normally on my other devices. I've restarted the connection, tried different troubleshooting guides and Command Prompt fixes, checked Device Manager, and switched to Google's DNS, but nothing has helped. What should I check next?

Start by checking whether the PC is receiving a valid IP address and whether it can communicate with the router. Open Command Prompt and run `ipconfig`, then look for the IPv4 address and Default Gateway. Run `ping ` to test the local connection, followed by `ping google.com` to test DNS and internet access. If the gateway ping fails, the problem is probably the adapter, driver, cable, or local network configuration. If the gateway works but the domain ping fails, DNS or the wider internet connection may be the issue.

I wasn’t sure how to check the IP address or ping the router. I only know that opening Google just keeps loading, so I’ll try those Command Prompt checks.

Because the problem affects every app and another browser behaves the same way, this probably isn’t a browser issue. Check for a faulty network adapter or driver in Device Manager, disable and re-enable the adapter, and try Windows 11’s Network Reset as a last resort. Also test both Wi‑Fi and Ethernet separately; if both fail only on this PC, resetting the network stack or reinstalling the motherboard/network adapter driver may be more useful than changing DNS again.

I’ve already tried another browser, but none of my apps can get online either, so I agree the browser isn’t the cause.
