Windows Corrupts Shortly After Installation on a Ryzen 5 5600G System

I'm having a frustrating problem with a PC built around an A520M motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600G with integrated Radeon graphics. The system has 32GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and a 1TB hard drive. Windows installs successfully, but a few minutes after reaching the desktop, the operating system crashes or becomes corrupted. I tested each RAM stick individually, disconnected the hard drive and used only the SSD, then disconnected the SSD and used only the hard drive. The same problem occurred in every configuration. What exactly should I check next? Could the motherboard, processor, BIOS settings, or Windows installation media be responsible?

Reseat the memory and check that the motherboard power connectors are fully plugged in. A BIOS update may also help if the board has an early or unstable firmware version, but use the manufacturer’s instructions and keep all settings at stock during testing.

Try booting a Linux live USB and use the computer for a while. If Linux runs normally, the hardware is probably okay and the Windows installer or configuration is the more likely problem. If Linux also crashes or shows corruption, focus on the motherboard, CPU, power supply, or BIOS.

First, clarify what “corrupted” means—such as boot errors, missing files, blue screens, or graphical glitches. The symptoms can point to very different causes. I’d also download Windows directly from Microsoft and recreate the installation USB rather than reusing the current installer.

Reset the BIOS or UEFI settings to their defaults, then confirm the system is booting in UEFI mode. Disable any memory overclocking or EXPO/XMP profile while testing, since unstable memory settings can corrupt Windows even if the RAM sticks seem fine.
