Advice for Buying My First GPU: What Should I Choose?

I'm diving back into PC building after a 10-15 year break and I'm looking to buy my first dedicated GPU. I'd like something that can handle 1080p gaming nicely and possibly flex to 1440p. I built an APU system a couple of years ago and it served me well but now I'm ready to upgrade. My budget is about $430 USD (or $8000 MXN), and I prefer to buy new. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600G, 32GB DDR4 RAM, and a 650W PSU on a Gigabyte B550M DS3H motherboard. What GPU should I go for—an older model, one from the last generation, or something in between?

For your budget and gaming needs, I'd recommend looking at the 9060 XT with 16GB. It's great for both 1080p and some light 1440p gaming. If you can stretch your budget a bit, cards like the RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT are fantastic and will handle 1440p max settings with ease, plus they should last you a while in terms of performance.

Absolutely, the 9060 XT is a solid choice! Just make sure to check for any sales on the newer cards, as they might fit your budget if you're lucky.
