Hey everyone! I recently arrived in the USA for a summer job, and unfortunately, my laptop broke down just three days in. I'm considering buying a new one here since it's more affordable than in the EU. I found a great deal on a laptop from a US-based company, but I'm worried about what might happen if it breaks while I'm back in Europe. Do I need to buy original parts only, or can I replace broken components with generic ones? Also, how important is the difference in power plugs between the USA and EU? Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

Good news! Most computer components are pretty universal, so you should be fine as long as you get a new charger for the voltage difference. I'm in the US and have had no issues using parts from Europe in my laptop, including a graphics card I bought from Italy. Just make sure you can find parts for that brand online, like on Amazon - especially if you're thinking of upgrading things like RAM or SSD in the future!
That makes sense! I didn't want to damage anything with the voltage differences. Thanks for clarifying!
