Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC so I can play STALKER 2 on high to epic settings, ideally sticking to a budget. I'm currently using an Intel i7-8700K and a GTX 1070. I plan to keep my storage, case, power supply, and monitor as they are, but I need to upgrade the CPU, GPU, motherboard, and memory. I've found 2x16GB DDR5 RAM for 200 euros locally, which I'll be using. For the GPU, there's a 4070 Super available for 450 euros. So the planned upgrades would cost around 670 euros in total. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is my power supply sufficient for this setup? 2. Is this build overkill for STALKER 2, or would you suggest something a bit cheaper? Thanks for your help!

I recommend switching to a good quality 850W Gold certified PSU to ensure your system has enough power and reliability, especially when using new components. Regarding the RAM, you could also consider cheaper options like TEAMGROUP's T-Create Expert 32GB DDR5-6000. For the GPU, something like the 5070 or a 5070 Ti could work well and offer better performance for your games. Don't forget to think about an NVMe SSD, as it'll significantly boost loading times and system responsiveness!
Honestly, I'd be cautious about using your existing PSU with new parts. The Intel i5-14600K is a strong choice, but I'd be mindful of tuning it to avoid heat issues. You're on the right track with the 4070 Super for your budget—it's a solid card! Just make sure it fits in your case; some smaller cases can be restrictive. And if you can get that 5070 for not much more than 450 euros, I'd seriously consider it—might be worth the investment!
It's also great to see you're investing in good RAM! It'll make a noticeable difference, especially with such demanding games.

Good point about the power supply! Looking ahead, getting a reliable, higher-capacity PSU is definitely smart, especially since you're planning for future upgrades.
