I'm looking to upgrade my current monitor, which is an ASUS VZ239H, a 27-inch model I got back in 2016 for around 300 euros. While it's still functional, I've been noticing a sort of opaque effect that makes working with images in programs like Photoshop less than ideal. My setup includes an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card and an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor. Although I'm not a tech expert and had some upgrades done about two years ago, I'm open to other suggestions too. My budget for the new monitor is up to 500 euros. I prefer not to use curved monitors, and I primarily game (especially shooters) and use design tools like Illustrator and Photoshop. I'd love some tips on what features to look for and anything else I should consider before making a decision. Thanks for any help!

The ASUS VZ239H is a solid 23-inch Full HD IPS monitor, but if you're looking for an upgrade, you might want to consider something with a higher refresh rate since you enjoy gaming. Sticking to Full HD is fine, but going for a higher refresh rate (around 144Hz) can really enhance your gaming experience. A 27-inch screen might be ideal, especially if you like tackling graphic design work. Just make sure to think about the size and refresh rates you want based on the games you play.
Good call! I hear a lot about going for higher refresh rates for FPS games. What brands would you recommend in that budget?

I see what you mean! So, with my current GPU, I wouldn’t need to rush into a graphics card upgrade just yet? Would a decent monitor be my main focus now?
