Advice Needed for Upgrading My PC Setup

I recently received a used PC from my dad, who bought it from someone else. This is actually my first experience with a PC, and I'm trying to figure out how I can upgrade it. The person he bought it from had used it briefly before getting a new OMEN PC and sold it to my dad for about $500. The computer came with a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and even two headsets.

It's really weird to mix such old and new parts. I think your best bet is to keep the current setup for now, especially the GPU and SSD, until you're able to save up and replace almost everything else. Just be sure to keep an eye on compatibility before you buy new parts!

Definitely consider the age of the parts. I'd just keep using it until you can afford to do a more comprehensive upgrade. Focus on a motherboard that suits a newer CPU with DDR4/DDR5 support, and you should be set for a good while!

From what you've described, it sounds like a lot of the components are quite old. You'll definitely want to replace the motherboard and RAM if you're looking to upgrade your CPU, especially since the parts are from around 2013. If you want a more modern setup, consider looking for a motherboard that supports DDR4 or DDR5 RAM. That would be a solid step to take.

Yeah, I agree! Your GPU is decent though, so you might want to hold onto that while upgrading the rest.
