I've built two gaming systems from late 2022 to early 2023, and I think it's time for an upgrade, especially for Tower 1. I haven't been following hardware news closely, so I could use some advice on what to do next. Should I just sell off some parts to recoup some cash for a new build, or focus on specific upgrades for each tower?
**Tower 1 Specs:**
- Ryzen 7 5700X
- RX 6700XT 12GB
- Asrock B550M Steel Legend AM4 MicroATX motherboard
- Team T-Force Vulcan Z 32GB DDR4 3200
- EVGA 80+ Gold 700W PSU
**Tower 2 Specs:**
- Ryzen 5 7600 (non-X)
- XFX Speedster Merc 319 RX 6950XT 16GB
- MSI Pro B650M-A AM5 MicroATX motherboard
- G.Skill Flare x5 32GB DDR5 6000
- EVGA SuperNOVA 850GT 80+ Gold 850W PSU
My main use is gaming, and I want to improve performance for loading times and graphics.

First off, what games are you playing? If it's mostly for your wife's rig (Tower 1), it sounds like the RAM could indeed be a bottleneck during load times. You might consider swapping out for faster RAM or just increasing the capacity if possible. For your Tower 2, since you're after better graphics, maybe look into upgrading the GPU or enhancing cooling for the RX 6950XT to push it harder.
If you're on a tighter budget, don't feel pressured to upgrade everything. Sell any unused parts from Tower 1 to fund some new components. Maybe look at adding an SSD to Tower 1 if it doesn't have one or upgrading the GPU for better frame rates in Tower 2 without doing a full overhaul.
Thanks for the tip about the SSD! I believe I have an older one in Tower 1, so upgrading that might help a lot. I'll also check which parts are worth selling.

That makes sense! Upgrading RAM can really help with loading times, especially if she's running intensive games. Plus, the RX 6950XT is already a powerhouse but optimizing thermal performance could really let it reach its potential.
