Hey everyone! I'm hoping to create a customizable program for sight-reading music, but I'm really unsure where to begin. I've tried a bunch of apps that connect to my keyboard via MIDI/USB to help improve my reading speed, but none of them seem to fit my needs. They range in quality, even the pricier options, and I'm left wanting something better. I know I have a lot to learn, but if hypothetically someone wanted to build this, what programming language would be best? And how would it interface with a keyboard?

It sounds like you're trying to address a specific gap! Before diving into development, consider that sight-reading skills are best improved with practice rather than software. However, I get wanting an app that gives feedback on mistakes. You might want to focus more on your practice strategies. Still, if you want to develop something, identify what features you need first!

Exactly! There’s a place for tech in learning, but nothing beats actual practice. What features do you think would really help your sight-reading?
