After Upgrading to a 5070, My CPU Overheats on Boot—Help!

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 3060 to a 5070, but now I'm facing a major issue. My PC struggles to get past the BIOS screen, and when it does let me log in, it only stays operational for a few seconds before shutting down due to the CPU overheating. I'm running a 650W Corsair power supply and an Intel i7-12700F processor. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What could be causing this?

It sounds like there could be a few different causes. First, how did you determine the CPU is overheating? If everything was working fine before the GPU upgrade and you didn’t mess with the CPU cooler, it might be that the power cables for the GPU are not connected properly. Make sure everything is seated right!

I can see the CPU temp in the BIOS, and it jumps to 88 degrees almost instantly without even reaching the login screen.
