For the last couple of months, I've noticed my command prompt flashing on the screen at random times, sometimes right after startup or even in the middle of gaming. It's been kind of unnerving, but I didn't look into it much. Recently, while using Spotify, my screen blacked out and when it came back, my context menu kept popping up without me clicking anything. My mouse was laggy and would select things in a tab automatically. This odd behavior lasted a couple of minutes before it stopped. I had reset my laptop before, which got rid of the strange mouse clicking issue. I ran a full scan with Windows Defender, but it didn't find anything. A quick scan I didn't initiate showed it was completed earlier today, and my system updated around the same time, which I found odd since I've been avoiding updates. I'm not super tech-savvy, and I just want to ensure everything is okay with my laptop. I plan to check task manager tomorrow for anything weird. What do you think?

You could do a clean Windows install using a USB drive. It’s generally more reliable than just resetting through the settings. If you’re looking for a fresh start, this is the way to go!
Honestly, if the malware has been on your PC for a while, it may have altered things to a point where removal is super complicated. The cleanest solution could be to reinstall Windows.
If you think malware might be an issue, it's a good idea to check out a malware removal guide online. Sometimes the scans miss things, so don't hesitate to dive deeper!
Is that the same as doing a full reset through the settings? Should I go for that instead?
