Am I Experiencing GPU Bottlenecking?

I recently built a new gaming PC with a 9060 XT 16GB GPU and a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU. While playing games like Roblox, I noticed that my GPU usage is above 80%, but my CPU only hits around 20%. However, in other titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Elden Ring, my performance seems fine. I'm gaming at 1440p and I'm uncertain if my GPU is bottlenecking the performance. Can anyone help clarify this?

What exactly are you noticing that might indicate a problem with game performance? If you're getting around 400 fps, then it sounds like everything is running just fine! It's completely normal for your GPU to be more utilized than your CPU in many scenarios, especially with newer games.

I don’t have a problem with the performance; I was just worried because of the usage stats.

CPU usage doesn't always tell you the full story. It depends on how many cores or threads the game is utilizing, and not all games make full use of your CPU. Just because your CPU is showing 20% usage doesn’t mean it’s bottlenecking your system. Your GPU being at 80% sounds normal, especially for 1440p gaming, since higher resolutions tend to stress the GPU more. So I’d say your setup is looking good!

So it’s not a bottleneck?

Don't stress too much about full utilization, especially in a game like Roblox. Games can have different performance demands, and your system setup seems solid! Keep enjoying Black Myth: Wukong and other games without worry; it looks like they’re running well.

I'm able to run Black Myth on high settings without issues!

It's actually quite common for GPU usage to be higher, especially in 1440p gaming. Even if your CPU is showing only 20%, it doesn’t necessarily mean it's holding back your performance. In fact, your setup should perform well even with more demanding games. You’ll notice a bottleneck primarily when your CPU can’t keep up in CPU-bound scenarios, which isn’t always the case. Don’t stress about the numbers too much!
