Am I in a Data Breach? What Should I Do Next?

I recently started learning about cybersecurity, and during one of my lessons, I learned about a site called 'Have I Been Pwned.' I checked my email and discovered that it was involved in a data leak from last September. It freaked me out, so I quickly changed my password. Is there anything else I should do to protect myself?

Lol, the typo made my day! But seriously, you're right to be concerned. Just about everyone has had their information exposed at some point. Keep those passwords fresh, enable 2FA everywhere you can, and just stay vigilant—it's all about regular updates and being proactive!

First off, great job taking the initiative to learn about cybersecurity! Just a heads up, it's actually 'pwned' and not 'pawned.' As for your email being breached, you're not alone—pretty much everyone with an online presence has been affected by some leak. Changing your password was a wise move, but make sure to do it regularly and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) if you haven't already. Using an authenticator app for 2FA is a must for anyone serious about security. Also, don't forget to use unique passwords for your different accounts!

Honestly, if anyone has been using the internet for a few years, chances are they’re in a data breach somewhere. Just keep your passwords updated and enable 2FA whenever possible, and you'll be in good shape moving forward!
