Am I Installing My RAM Correctly?

I recently made a new thread to ask about my RAM installation, but I initially had some trouble posting pictures. I can't figure out how to show images in replies or threads, which is frustrating. So, regarding my new RAM, I'm wondering if I should turn XMP on? I've set the DRAM frequency to 3600 MHz as advertised, but I left XMP enabled. Also, when I installed the RAM, it seems to be in slots that are opposite compared to my old RAM. Is that typical? I placed them in the red slots on my MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX motherboard, which has four slots (red/black/red/black), and I made sure they're spaced out. I also attempted to adjust the DRAM frequency from auto to 3600. Here's a link to the RAM I bought: [G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB DDR4-3600](https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-tridentz-rgb-series-32gb-ddr4-3600-cas-latency-cl18-desktop-memory-black/p/N82E16820232920?Item=N82E16820232920).

Just to add on, yeah, keep XMP turned on! It's crucial for making the most of your RAM's potential. Also, regarding your slot choice, using the black slots is preferred for dual-channel configuration. Mixing the colors isn't an issue as long as they're in the correct motherboard slots!

Yes, you should definitely keep XMP enabled for 3600 MHz speed. However, for optimal dual-channel performance, it's typically recommended to install the RAM in slots 2 and 4 instead of the 1 and 3 that you used. So, if your slots are color coded red and black, it would be ideal to use the black slots to ensure proper channeling.
