Am I Overreacting About Malware Concerns on My New Laptop?

Hey everyone! I just got a new laptop, but I'm feeling really anxious about malware. I made a mistake on the first day by plugging my PlayStation controller into it to charge while I was gaming. At some point, Steam's Big Picture Mode popped up, and I wasn't paying attention to the laptop. When I looked back, I noticed that I had downloaded a game from my library. Now, I'm super paranoid that I might have clicked on random links and downloaded malware without realizing it. I reset the laptop that same night, but I heard that doesn't guarantee malware is gone, and I might need a Windows setup disk to be safe. So, my question is: should I really be this worried? Also, if so, how can I check if my laptop is still infected, and how do I get the Windows setup disk if I can't access a clean device? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, you don’t need to stress too much about this. Accidental clicks from charging your controller are super unlikely to lead to a malware infection. In fact, your chances of getting malware this way are lower than winning the lottery! So take a deep breath and relax a bit.

Thanks for the reassurance! I know it sounds irrational, but my anxiety makes me overthink things, especially with potential malware.
