Lately, we've been hit with reports from several users experiencing microphone issues during Teams calls. This has also impacted our IT department. The workaround we've found involves going into the microphone settings, toggling to a different mic, and then switching back to the original, which seems to get it working. Simply muting and unmuting hasn't helped. We've noticed a consistent problem happening on two very different setups: one on a laptop using built-in audio and another on a desktop with a USB mic (specifically a Rode Podcaster). Other users have found the same workaround effective. However, I haven't seen any official word from Microsoft on this, and my searches mainly lead me to older threads about Realtek audio adapters, which seems unrelated to the more recent issues. Has anyone else encountered this problem or found a potential solution?

Have you tried clearing Teams' cache? And just to double-check, is your audio driver fully updated?
On some of our Latitude laptops, I noticed that the 'reduce loud sounds' option in the microphone settings might be causing problems. Maybe check that out?
Yeah, I'm running into the same issue. Is anyone else using Dell machines for Teams?
I haven't found a fix yet, but it seems like several users are having the same problem. By the way, are those Dell machines you're using? We've only noticed it happening with our Latitude models.
We've seen issues on both Dell and Lenovo models, but I can't confirm they share the exact same problem. Troubleshooting remotely can be a pain, haha.
We have both Lenovo and Dell machines. Recently, I also noticed it occurring on my own personal laptop from Puget Systems.
