Apple Denied My Subscription Refund – Need Help!

I'm in a tough spot. I signed up for a free trial of a meditation app to help with my anxiety, but it didn't help me at all. After stopping my use, I was shocked to see a £60 charge for a yearly subscription a week later. I immediately asked for a refund, but it got denied the next day. I tried again, explaining that losing that £60 would seriously affect my ability to eat for the next two weeks, but they still said no. My anxiety has spiked ever since! I can't afford to live on what I've got, and I'm not sure what to do next. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for me?

It's unfortunate that your refund got denied. Apple usually has strict policies about subscriptions. It's a shame they don't always consider human error. You might want to chargeback through your bank or credit card if you really can’t get help from Apple. Just keep in mind that this could complicate things with your account, so weigh your options carefully.

I feel for you, that’s a rough situation! Definitely try to connect with Apple Support and explain everything. Sometimes you can get lucky and speak with someone who understands. Don't lose hope!

I’ve had some luck with refunds through PayPal in the past. If you used PayPal for the subscription, you could file a dispute with them. Just remember that it could lead to your account being flagged with Apple, so think it through before you do that.

If you're in the EU, you might have more rights with the 'Right of Withdrawal'. I'd definitely recommend giving Apple Support a call and clearly explaining your situation. Sometimes you get a better response when you speak to a person rather than rely on automated systems.

I totally get where you're coming from, but just a heads up - Apple’s refund policy is pretty strict, and they’ve become less lenient over the years. They likely won't approve a refund since you didn’t cancel in time. It might be worth contacting the app’s customer service directly to see if they can help, as they may be able to process a refund through Apple.
