I'm curious about whether the price of the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4080 16GB will drop in the coming months. I've recently come across some discussions suggesting that with the release of the 5000 Super GPUs, the prices of the 4000 series might actually rise. Can anyone explain why the prices of the 4000 series GPUs would go up instead of down?

Honestly, it’s a bit puzzling why you’d want to get a brand new 4080 when the 5080 will likely be priced similarly. The 4000 series GPUs are being phased out, and as stock runs low, their prices will probably rise regardless of the new releases. Just something to think about!
That's why I’m leaning toward a used GPU to keep costs manageable. I’m looking at $700-$800 max since I’m currently using a ZOTAC RTX 3080.
