Are Microsoft Scans Reliable for Detecting Viruses?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a worrywart when it comes to my computer's security, so I'm curious about the reliability of Microsoft full scans and offline scans. Recently, while playing online games like Marvel Rivals—which I downloaded from Steam—I heard a strange sound similar to the old Word prompts when you try to close without saving. I've been running the scans almost daily, and they always say my system is fine. However, I did notice three small black tabs opening and closing quickly right after turning on my computer the other day (they looked like command prompts, but they went by too fast to see). This happened only once, but it has me concerned. Any clues about the sound or those tabs? Should I be worried?

The command prompts flashing is pretty normal; they often pop up even when hidden. Overall, Microsoft scans are generally reliable. If that sound only happens while you're gaming, it's likely just some background process responding but nothing to stress over. I wouldn't worry too much!

Thanks! I appreciate the reassurance, but I’ll probably still freak out a bit every time I hear it, haha. Thanks again!
