Hey everyone!
I'm really worried about my CPU temps while gaming. I've noticed that many similar setups online show their CPUs running around 70°C during gameplay, but mine is running much hotter. Here's what I'm working with:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- **GPU:** ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend 16GB
- **CPU Cooler:** ID-Cooling FX360 INF AIO (360mm)
- **Motherboard:** Asus B650M-AYW WIFI-CSM
- **RAM:** 2x16GB Patriot Signature Premium DDR5 5200MHz
- **SSD:** 1TB Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 NVMe Gen 4
- **Power Supply:** Antec 1000W CSK Pro EC
- **Case:** Aigo C218M (mATX)
- **Case Fans:** 4 x Ader Rus 120 ARGB Fans
My room's around 25°C, and these are the temperatures I've been tracking with HWInfo64 and AMD Adrenalin:
- **CPU Idle:** ~50°C
- **GPU Idle:** ~40°C
- **CPU Under Load (Gaming):** 80-85°C
- **GPU Under Load (Gaming):** 65-70°C
I'm using the thermal paste that came pre-applied on my cooler, and all four of my case fans are set to exhaust.
Are my temps too high or normal? I'm also seeing my GPU hotspot hit around 90°C—is that something to worry about? What can I do to improve these temps? I'm particularly curious if my all-exhaust fan setup is the issue. Do I need to upgrade anything, or is it possible there's a fault with one of my parts? I tried to get help from the seller, but they say it's all fine.
Thanks for any advice!
EDIT: I also usually remove the glass panel when gaming, which made me think about the fan direction.

Your temps sound a little on the high side, especially the GPU. It's crucial to have a good airflow system, so balancing your fans will definitely help. Try adjusting that fan configuration to see if it makes a difference!
Definitely consider switching up your fan setup. You should have more intakes than exhausts to allow fresh air into the case. Maybe try changing the front fans to intake and leave the AIO and back fans as exhaust. This will help with airflow and keep your components cooler!
I’d recommend switching at least half of your fans to intake. An all-exhaust setup can create a negative pressure situation, which isn’t good for cooling. Just try to balance it out a bit more!
I wouldn’t worry too much, but that GPU hotspot is a concern! Your setup needs better airflow; definitely change the fan direction to bring in cool air.
Your temps do seem a bit high, especially under load. I just built a system with a 9700X and my idle is around 36-37°C. You might also want to tweak your fan curves based on load to keep everything cool. Changing your front fans to intake could definitely help!
Thanks for the tip! I usually take the side panel off when gaming, which I thought might help.

Yeah, an all-exhaust setup can really screw with temp management. You need that fresh air coming in, especially for your CPU and GPU.
