Are Standing Desks Worth It for Gaming?

I'm considering getting a standing desk for my husband, mainly so he can find the perfect height for gaming comfortably while sitting. Knowing him, he might stand occasionally for his work, but he doesn't usually do much work from home. However, he's starting online school soon, so he might actually use the standing feature more during that time. The desks I'm looking at are around $500, and I'm concerned about their stability. We can afford it, but I want to make sure it's worth the investment, especially since it will primarily be used for gaming in the long run.

Absolutely! Everyone has different body types and comfort needs. I actually find gaming while standing to be really enjoyable. Just be sure it's height-adjustable—it'll make a big difference!

The height definitely matters for comfort while gaming! An adjustable desk could make your husband's experience a lot better. If he rarely stands, maybe consider just getting a tabletop with adjustable legs? That might save some cash too.

I’ve seen some decent options in the $300 range, and they've worked well for me. It’s really about finding the right fit for your husband!

I picked up my standing desk for about $250 and it's been amazing! Just a heads up: the price can vary a lot. If you’re okay with a manual one rather than a motorized one, it could save you some money. I finally put a treadmill underneath, and it’s been a total game changer!

I can't praise my adjustable desk enough! I started out with a model that could switch between sitting and standing, but I ended up just keeping mine elevated. It definitely helps with posture and comfort, which can also prevent issues like carpal tunnel. If he’s using it mostly for gaming, a good chair could help too!
