Are there any better CPU coolers than the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE?

I've been using the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE with my Corsair 4000D Airflow case, but I'm looking for something that can cool my CPU better. Currently, I'm hitting around 80°C during gaming, and while I know it's one of the top air coolers out there, it's getting old. I'm not keen on spending over $100 for a marginal improvement. Does anyone have suggestions for a more efficient cooler that won't break the bank? Just a heads up, I can't use liquid coolers with three fans due to my large GPU blocking the space in the front of the case.

If you're open to it, consider just swapping out the fans on your current cooler. Premium fans, like the Phanteks T30, have great airflow, or you can try more budget-friendly options like the P12 Max. Additionally, check your fan configuration in your case. Making sure the top fan is an intake could help prevent warm air recirculating around the CPU area.

Have you considered repasting the CPU? Also, double-check that your case fans are set up for optimal airflow. There aren’t many air coolers that outperform the Phantom Spirit 120 SE significantly, but it’s worth checking your current setup first.

I’ve already re-pasted and adjusted my fans, unfortunately.

80°C is generally acceptable for gaming, but knowing your CPU can help pinpoint cooling options. What CPU are you using?

Ah, it's a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Thanks for asking!

Look at some recent Thermalright models like the Peerless Assassin 140, the Phantom Spirit Evo, or the Royal Praetor 130. They might have better cooling performance, though there have been some QC issues reported on a few models. You could also check out the Jiushark JF800 Diamond if you're in the right region, but it can be hard to find.

I'll definitely check out the Thermalright models, but I feel Noctua coolers tend to be overpriced for their performance.
