I'm planning to use the NZXT Kraken Elite 360mm cooler for my build with a 9950X3D processor on an X870E Hero motherboard. I'm curious if there are any high-performance alternatives to this cooler that aren't based on price. Also, I've heard mixed opinions on the pre-applied thermal paste. Do you think I should replace it with something else? If so, what thermal paste would you recommend?

Regarding the pre-applied thermal paste, it's decent but not the best. If you're aiming for optimal temps, I recommend replacing it with something like Arctic MX-4 or Noctua NT-H1; both are excellent choices that will give you better thermal conductivity.
Totally makes sense; a little extra effort can make a big difference!
For performance, a lot of the top-tier 360mm coolers are pretty similar. If you're looking for a strong contender, the Liquid Freezer III is often praised for its balance of performance and price. But honestly, many people choose NZXT AIOs more for their aesthetic appeal than raw cooling power. Just go with what looks best to you, especially considering your high-end components; it sounds like you’re ready to invest for style!
Exactly! The aesthetics play a huge role in these builds. And it sounds like you're not too worried about spending a bit more for what you like.
Right! That’s why I’m interested in the NZXT, it just has that cool vibe.
Good to know! I’ll consider switching it out for better performance.
