I'm gearing up for my second PC build and putting together a list of parts. I'm feeling pretty good about the compatibility, but I wanted to know if anyone has any concerns or issues with my selections. Here's what I'm planning on using:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3d
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17
- Motherboard: ASRock B650 PG Lightning ATX AM5
- RAM: Patriot Viper Venom 32 GB (2x16) DDR5-6000 CL30
- GPU: Asus PRIME OC RTX 5070 12 GB
- PSU: SeaSonic Focus GX-850 V4 ATX 3 (2024)
- Case: Lian Li LANCOOL 216 RGB ATX Mid Tower
I've been considering switching out the cooler because I've heard some mixed reviews about Thermalright.

Honestly, I think everything looks good! The only suggestion I have is to maybe consider the RX 9070 instead of the RTX 5070, but that’s just based on personal preference. I’ve heard it's a solid choice for performance.
Are you just looking at performance differences, or are there other factors in play for choosing a GPU?
I don’t see any red flags in your build! Everything seems compatible and perfectly fine. Good luck with your build!
I totally agree! Plus, where I live, the 9070XT is even cheaper than the regular 9070, so you might want to check that out too.
