Are These Temperatures Normal for a 7800X3D During a Kombustor Stress Test?

Hey everyone! I'm testing my 7800X3D and running Kombustor to stress it out. Here's what I'm seeing:
- Idle temps: 40-50°C
- Gaming and lighter tasks: 70-75°C
- Kombustor burn test: hitting 87°C

I'm using an MSI Mag A13 360mm AIO and thought I'd have lower temps at these heavy loads. Just want to know if 87°C is acceptable for this kind of testing.

The 7000 series chips are known to run hot, especially the non-X3D ones that can hit 85-95°C under load. So, hitting 75°C during gaming is pretty normal for your 7800X3D. Don't stress too much about it!

I get that, but I was specifically asking about the 87°C during the Kombustor test since I expected it to be lower with my AIO cooler.

Remember, those 7000 series chips are designed to hit their max boost clocks close to TJmax, which is around 95°C. You're still under that threshold, so you're good to go!

Looks like you're within a normal range for temps. Just keep an eye on them, but those numbers seem fine overall during heavy loads.

You're doing fine. A lot of people expect modern CPUs to behave like older Sandy Bridge ones, but that's not the case. It's common to see temps over 80°C in stress tests, with many touching 90°C. Don't worry about it!
