I recently hit a snag while building my PC and accidentally bent some pins on my ASUS ROG STRIX X807E-E motherboard (check out the image linked). I'm really concerned about whether the motherboard is beyond repair and if there's anything I can salvage before recycling it, like the Wi-Fi antenna. Also, how about my CPU? I did a quick inspection, and it looks fine, but I'm curious if it might be damaged too.

Modern LGA processors are usually pretty tough, so there's a good chance your CPU is still okay. I'd say proceed cautiously and assume it’s fine for now.
If you take your time, you might be able to bend the pins back into place. Your CPU should be fine too!
That’s a pricey board to wreck! You could probably straighten the pins if you're careful—there are some great videos by creators like LTT showing how to do that. If not, there are repair services that can fix the socket, which might be worth considering, especially for an X870E. Just keep in mind, you won't know if the CPU's okay until you try it out on another board.
I think I messed up during installation. I misread the CPU instructions and didn’t realize the cap should come off earlier. I was careful until then, but I guess it was enough to bend the pins. I’ll look into repair options instead of throwing the board away. Thanks for the advice!
