I just picked up a used Ryzen 5 5600X for my PC, and while showing it to my wife, I accidentally dropped it into its plastic case upside down and bent some pins on the corners—about six in total. I spent nearly an hour carefully straightening them out, and it looks fine and fits snugly now. However, my PC won't boot with this CPU, though my previous Ryzen 2600 works perfectly, so I know the motherboard is fine. I feel really frustrated and dumb for messing this up. Is there anything more I can try to salvage this, or is it time to accept that I messed up?

Have you checked if your motherboard’s BIOS supports the Ryzen 5 5600X? Sometimes, you might need a BIOS update to use newer processors. Just a thought!
It says it's compatible on the motherboard's website. Do you have any tips on how I can check if the BIOS supports it? I've got the 2600 back in for now.
