I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600G, but it's really bottlenecking my FPS in Counter-Strike 2. I have a 180Hz monitor, and my FPS ranges from 160-170, dropping to around 140 in intense moments. I'm considering a few CPUs: the Ryzen 7 5800X for $235, the Ryzen 9 5900XT for $330, or the Ryzen 5 5500X3D I found on eBay for $225 (new). I used to work in PC repair, but I've been away for about five years and want to make sure I make the right choice. I've heard L3 cache is crucial for CS2, and while the 5900XT seems overkill for my 2070 Super with its 64MB L3 compared to the 5800X's 32MB, I'm planning to upgrade my GPU in the future. Can anyone shares insights on whether the 5800X would help me hit a stable 200+ FPS, or should I consider spending more on the 5900XT, or take a chance on the 5500X3D from eBay? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend going with the 5800X or even the 5800XT if you can swing it. They're solid options that should deliver good performance without breaking the bank.
For the price, the 5500X3D sounds like a good deal. Plus, eBay has buyer protection, so if there are any issues, you should be alright.
I think the 5900XT might not be the best pick since it has two chiplets. Only one will be used in games, meaning you're paying for cores and cache that won't really make a difference. From what I gather, the 5500X3D will actually perform the best for gaming, but it’s all about whether you’re comfortable buying from eBay.

Thanks for the insight! I didn't know about the 5900XT's architecture working that way.
