Best Budget Options for CPU and GPU for 3D Modeling

Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first PC specifically for 3D modeling and game development. My budget is set at $1,800, and I'm not entirely sure which CPU and GPU would be best for this purpose. I've come across a variety of opinions and need some guidance. Is this budget sufficient for applications like Blender, or should I consider saving more? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend getting 64GB of DDR5 RAM, ideally around 6000CL30, although 5600CL40 is a good backup option if pricier ones are out of stock. You have solid choices with Ryzen 7000 or 9000 non-X3D CPUs, and Core Ultras. Just keep in mind that for 3D rendering, a strong GPU from the RTX 5000 series is essential—get the best within your budget!

It might be useful to share your entire build plan, including what you have left in your budget.

I thought it would be best to start with the GPU and CPU, so right now I have nothing lined up but my full budget!

Just to give you a frame of reference, I run my Blender, Zbrush, and Unreal projects on an RTX 3060 paired with a 5800X. You don't necessarily need the top-of-the-line components. I think $1,800 will definitely get you newer and better parts than what I'm using now.

Thanks a ton! This really clarifies things for me.

For 3D modeling, I'd suggest going for a powerful GPU like the RTX 5080 and pairing it with a Ryzen 7800X3D. If that's out of your price range, the Ryzen 9700X is a good alternative that still performs well.
