I'm looking for a budget-friendly upgrade from my GTX 1080. I'm not expecting high-end graphics, but I'm at the point where my system struggles to run multiple applications simultaneously, like Discord and games. Rendering audio and video makes my PC extremely loud, so any upgrade would be a step up! I'd like to play Deadlock smoothly on lower settings and to better use advanced editing software and DAWs. Where should I begin with this upgrade?

It sounds like your CPU might be the main issue rather than just the GPU. Have you checked how hot your CPU gets while gaming? It's also worth looking at your cooling system since a noisy PC could indicate it's working too hard to keep things cool. If you have any monitoring software, like HWiNFO64, that could help you see if temperatures and power usage are too high under load.

My CPU is an Intel i7-3770, and it hits about 70C under average gaming load.
