I'm building my first PC and I'm considering the Peerless Assassin 120 and the Peerless Assassin 120 Digital. I prefer the digital version over the standard one, but I'm not impressed by the SE and EVO variations. I noticed that the Liquid Freezer III is on sale, but I would rather go for an air cooler. Are the Peerless coolers strong enough to handle the cooling for the 9800X3D? Which one would you recommend, and what kind of idle temperatures should I expect after installation?

The Peerless Assassin is definitely up to the task for cooling the 9800X3D. On a properly installed air cooler, your idle temps should hover between 40 to 55°C, depending on how many background apps are running, your room temperature, and your case airflow.
Thanks! By the way, do you know what the key differences are between the SE and EVO versions?
