Best Cooler Options for Upgrading to a 5700X3D

I'm planning to upgrade my CPU from a 3700X to a 5700X3D. Currently, I'm using the Wraith Prism cooler, and while I think it should manage the 5700X3D adequately, it's a bit noisy on the 3700X. I've been looking at the Burst Assassin from Thermalright and would love to hear any recommendations. I've also thought about the Peerless Assassin, but it may block my RAM's RGB lighting. Any thoughts?

I have the Burst Assassin paired with my 5700X3D. It runs quietly and keeps temperatures around 60-65°C under heavy load, so I’d recommend it!

Thanks! What kinds of games do you play that lead to those temps?

I’ve been using the Hyper 212 Halo and it works perfectly for me. Even when pushing my 5700X3D hard, it only hits around 60°C while gaming and peaks at 75°C during benchmarks. Honestly, any cooler over $20 that’s a single tower should handle it, but if you have space, a dual tower like the Peerless Assassin might fit if you adjust the fan for RAM clearance.

Exactly! My Hyper 212 Black gives me similar results, and I have pretty bad airflow in my case too.

Great point about adjusting the fan! I’ll definitely look into that—appreciate the info!

You should be fine for gaming, but if you really stress all cores with something like video rendering, it might run hot. If you have room in your case, consider an affordable 240mm or even 360mm AIO from Thermalright for around $50.

I could fit an AIO, but I’m not ready to dive into water cooling just yet. I don’t do much rendering, so I should be good. Thanks!
