I'm looking to build a gaming PC around my new 1440p 180Hz monitor, but I don't have much experience in the PC gaming scene. I have a budget of $1500 for my entire build and I want a setup that can consistently deliver over 100 FPS on high settings. You mentioned needing 240 FPS, but are you sure you need that for every game? It might be more useful to focus on the titles you'll actually be playing. If you're just going for smoothness, high FPS in general should work well for most games.

Good point! I meant 240Hz for the monitor, but aiming for 120FPS+ in games sounds more realistic.
